Standing Together in Uncertain Times
Dear friends,
Once again, our community is facing a moment of deep uncertainty. The government shutdown is threatening critical lifelines like SNAP, WIC, healthcare, and other programs that thousands in our community rely on to make ends meet. Our immigrant neighbors, who contribute so much to the vibrancy of Montgomery County, are encountering heightened barriers and fear, even as they work hard to meet their families’ needs.
We are all bracing for the impact of rising demand colliding with shrinking resources. And while that weight can feel heavy, we also know this: our community has proven its strength before.
Through programs like IW Progress Place and the IW Essential Needs Center, Interfaith Works will continue to ensure that food, clothing, shelter, and essential resources remain within reach for every neighbor who needs support. We do not do this work alone; our impact is built through partnership with you and with a resilient network of nonprofit organizations that share our commitment to stability, dignity, and hope.
As challenges rise, creativity and collaboration lead us forward. We are adapting in real time, finding new ways to break down barriers and open doors to opportunities that systems too often fail to provide. Even as those systems falter, our community continues to show what is possible when we show up for one another with purpose, compassion, and love.
That spirit was on full display during our recent Harmony of Hearts event, where music, voices, and stories reminded us that hope is strongest when shared. The messages of unity and resilience reflected all that makes this community extraordinary. We do not give in to despair. We rise together.
Thank you for continuing to walk beside us and for believing in our mission, in one another, and in the promise of a stronger tomorrow. With your support, we will continue bridging gaps, lifting voices, and building a future where everyone can thrive.
With Gratitude,
Courtney Hall, CEO
