Open Doors for Generations to Come

For more than 50 years, Interfaith Works has stood alongside our neighbors, opening doors to stability, dignity, and hope. With your support—through volunteering, donations, and advocacy—you already have made a lasting impact. By including Interfaith Works in your will, trust, or beneficiary designation, you leave a legacy of compassion that will impact generations to come. Your gift helps build a Montgomery County where every neighbor has the opportunity to live with dignity, grow, and thrive.

** Please note Interfaith Works does not provide legal or tax advice; we encourage you to talk with your financial advisor or an attorney to determine the Planned Giving options that might be best for your situation.**

What is legacy giving?

Legacy giving—also called planned giving—is a thoughtful way to support the causes you care about most, while often providing financial benefits such as reduced tax liability. It is one of the most powerful ways to ensure that your values live on and that families in need will always have a place to turn.

No matter your age or stage of life, you can create a legacy of compassion, stability, and opportunity by planning today for a gift tomorrow.

Ways to Include Interfaith Works in Your Plans

Charitable Bequest  is a gift made to a nonprofit or charity through a will or trust. It is a revocable gift, meaning it can be changed or modified at any time. You may allocate a specific asset, such as real estate, a vehicle, other property, a fixed monetary amount, or a percentage or residual of your estate to Interfaith Works. You can choose to designate a bequest for a general or specific purpose. Bequests are exempt from federal estate taxes. If your estate is taxable, the estate tax charitable deduction may help offset or eliminate estate taxes, resulting in a larger inheritance for your heirs.

Beneficiary Designations: You can name Interfaith Works as one of the beneficiaries of your retirement accounts, life insurance policies, certificate of deposits, donor-advised funds, or bank or brokerage accounts. IW can be included as a partial, full, or contingent beneficiary.

Benefits of Legacy Giving:

  • Reduce the burden of taxes on your family

  • Receive an estate tax charitable deduction

  • Continue to use the asset or property you will leave to charity during your lifetime

  • Leave a lasting legacy to Interfaith Works
