Seasons of Change, Seasons of Growth - Letter from the CEO

I came back to Interfaith Works refreshed and reignited after taking some time off for a period of rest. It allowed me the opportunity to reflect on the changes and growth of this incredible organization. During my tenure, Interfaith Works has grown in our programs supporting our neighbors, in our number of staff to support the needs of our clients, and even in space as our Vocational Services Program (VSP) and Administration teams found a home at our new main office on Rollins Avenue in Rockville.

This welcome move provides the catalyst to better connect and collaborate with those we serve and also with each other. Our new location provides space for VSP clients to access a computer lab, have quiet areas to meet with vocational counselors, and prepare for interviews. The new location also enables the VSP team – formerly completely remote and separated from each other – to brainstorm and develop innovative solutions to help their clients. Our entire IW team has greatly enjoyed using the conference spaces to conduct training and have meetings. Our new home allows us to collaborate effectively and come together more than we ever could before.

We are deeply grateful to this community and our partners for helping us to create this space for our clients and staff. I invite you to join us on Wednesday, October 11, 5:00-7:00 p.m. for the Rollins Open House event. Come see the space, learn more about the growth of our programs, and hear about the incredible impact of our Vocational Services Program. RSVP here

Also, in this season of growth and change, we are gearing up for the holiday season as we launch the "Share the Magic of Giving" campaign to benefit the families and children in our Community Supportive Housing (CSH) program. Our CSH program supports people with disabilities and those who previously experienced homelessness, helping them obtain supportive housing and regain a measure of stability.

We are raising $15,000 to buy gift cards, which families can use to buy what they need to make this season special. We want to make sure our families have plenty of time to plan and shop, so we are trying to secure the funds by October 6. Please donate today!

I am always struck by the generosity of this community. Thank you for your continued support, care, and contributions. Together we can continue to create pathways to stability for our neighbors in this season, and all seasons to come.
