Hello, Interfaith Works!
Dear Friends,
As I begin my journey as CEO of Interfaith Works, I want to take a moment to introduce myself and share how honored I am to join this incredible community.
Throughout my career, I have been drawn to opportunities that allow me to help others and create meaningful changes. What attracted me to Interfaith Works was the organizations commitment to meeting people where they are—helping neighbors not only find housing and overcome homelessness but also addressing their immediate needs and the barriers standing in the way of stability, opportunity, and success.
In just a few short weeks, I have already witnessed the heart of this organization in action.
I have met staff members whose dedication, compassion, and commitment inspire me every day. Whether I am visiting programs, hearing about the challenges our teams face, or seeing the smiles of those we serve, I am continually reminded of the extraordinary impact Interfaith Works has on our community. Their passion gives me tremendous hope and motivation as we work together to address both the day-to-day needs of our neighbors and the larger challenges affecting our community.
I also have had the privilege of meeting many of our volunteers. During my visits to the Essential Needs Center, I have seen firsthand the remarkable role volunteers play in making our mission possible. The food, clothing, backpacks, and other essential items that reach our neighbors each day are available because of the generosity of volunteers and donors like you. Your support touches lives in ways that are both practical and deeply meaningful.
What has impressed me most is the individualized care that defines Interfaith Works. Across our shelters, housing programs, vocational services, and community support programs, every person has a unique story. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, our staff take the time to understand everyone’s circumstances and work alongside them to find the support they need. That commitment to personalized care reflects the very best of who we are.
In my short time here, Interfaith Works has come to represent community, collaboration, hope, and encouragement. I am excited to build on the strong foundation that already exists and to work alongside our staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to expand our impact in the years ahead.
Thank you for welcoming me so warmly into the Interfaith Works family. I look forward to getting to know many more of you and continuing this important work together.
With gratitude,
Lauren Puryear, CEO
