The Interfaith Works Empowerment Center at Progress Place (IWEC) is a day program and outreach program for adults experiencing homelessness in Montgomery County. At the Center, Interfaith Works provides access to basic needs (such as food, laundry and shower facilities), case management services and a full calendar of recreational and therapeutic groups.
*If you know of someone experiencing homelessness and in need of emergency shelter, please have them contact the Montgomery County Crisis Center, which is open around the clock, at (240) 777-4000. More information about the Crisis Center is available on this county page.
– Host a game night or lead a class/workshop with our residents
– Run a food or clothing drive
(Group option available. Minimum age is 14 years old)

Aside from monetary donations, the Interfaith Works Empowerment Center also accepts the following goods:
– Cleaning supplies (bleach, Clorox wipes, mops, brooms, dish soap, nitrile gloves, laundry detergent, etc.)
Paper Goods (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, etc.)
– Snack bars
– Socks & Underwear
*Please note that sock & underwear donations must be new.
– Touchless Thermometers
– Water bottles
– $10 laundry cards from Tropicana Laundromat in Silver Spring
