Operated out of IW’s Progress Place location, the Interfaith Works Residences Program provides permanent, supportive housing to 21 men and women who have experienced chronic homelessness. The program helps clients maintain housing by providing private living quarters and 24-hour staff support in the same facility.
Our program offers a safe environment where residents can identify and overcome barriers to self-sufficiency and housing.
Each resident receives:
*If you know of someone experiencing homelessness and in need of emergency shelter, please have them contact the Montgomery County Crisis Center, (240) 777-4000, which is open 24/7. More information about the Crisis Center is available on this county page.
– Host a dinner night, bingo night, art night, and/or other game night!
(Group option available. Minimum age is 14 years old)

Aside from monetary donations, the Interfaith Works Residences Program also accepts the following goods:
– Canned goods (fruits, tuna, beans, etc.)
– Dry goods (pasta, crackers, rice, cereal, etc.)
– Jarred foods (peanut butter, jam, pickles, pasta sauces, etc.)
*Please ensure any sauce donations are not wine or vodka based and do not contain any alcohol.
– Snack Bars
– Socks & Underwear
*Please note that sock & underwear donations must be new.
