The IW Overflow Shelter (IWOF) provides low-barrier shelter for guests during extreme weather. Typically, the shelter opens during hypothermia season (November through March) and serves as a cooling center on summer hyperthermia days. In response to the pandemic, IWOF has been open year-round. Interfaith Works case managers engage shelter guests and work to connect them with resources and housing.
*If you know of someone experiencing homelessness and in need of emergency shelter, please have them contact the Montgomery County Crisis Center, (240) 777-4000, which is open 24/7. More information about the Crisis Center is available on this county page.
