“I believe in paying back what’s owed,” said Yvonne, who now joins the ranks of the graduates of the Interfaith Works Hand to Hand eviction prevention program. Yvonne has been sticking to her plan to graduate from our program by repaying a 2014 loan. When she lost her fast-food restaurant job in 2013, she could not keep up with her rent. Yvonne diligently has paid down her debt by sending in many $5 checks and by receiving credit for taking self-sufficiency classes.
She enjoys the satisfaction of being able to meet her goal while facing the challenge of living with a disability and other setbacks. Our Hand to Hand program is a safety net service that prevents homelessness and also enables borrowers strengthen life skills and their ability to meet a personal responsibility. Congratulations to Yvonne for meeting her obligations!
