best photo new Progress Place IWECThis program is located at the Interfaith Works Empowerment Center (8106 Georgia Ave. at Progress Place) in downtown Silver Spring.  The Interfaith Works Residences (IWR) program provides permanent, supportive housing to 21 men and women who previously have experienced chronic homelessness.

IWR is designed to help highly vulnerable and chronically homeless individuals maintain their housing by providing private living quarters and 24-hour staff support in the same facility. Our goal is to help clients maintain and thrive in permanent supportive housing by providing supportive services and assisting clients to engage and utilize the resources available.

Residents have access to laundry services, a fully equipped kitchen with storage, and lounge area. Each unit comes with a microwave and mini refrigerator. Our program offers a safe environment where residents can identify and overcome barriers to self-sufficiency and housing.

Each resident receives high-quality case management services which include:·

Life Skills Development
Tenancy Support
Assistance with budgeting
Medication management
Referrals to other agencies in order to integrate a variety of supports (including substance abuse counseling, mental health, dental services)
