The Interfaith Works Women's Center is a 70-bed short-term emergency shelter serving approximately 300 women per year. Case managers work with clients towards a rapid exit housing plan from the shelter by referring them to housing programs, vocational programs, making medical referrals, mental health referrals, and connection to social services benefits.
We have a great need for groups of volunteers to prepare dinner for 35 women this summer. If you can coordinate the preparation of a dinner for 35 people and deliver the meal on one evening, please let us know.
We also have openings for volunteers to bring lunches on weekends. Meals are needed for between 35 and 40 residents on Saturdays and Sundays. Bag lunches would be dandy. Hot meals are always appreciated!
Contact Samantha Cheakalos, Interfaith Works Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help in either of these ways. Samantha will be happy to talk about the details and provide information (and inspiration!) on how to prepare a meal.
